Wedding Flowers – Gardenia flower signifies love and puritywedding flowers

Gardenia’s are flowers that express love, purity and joy. It is a perfect flower for special occassions, including making an excellent choice as wedding flowers. This flower provides a strong, yet sweet fragrance when freshly bloomed. In the wild, this blossom does not last very long and tends to turn brown very quickly after blooming – typically within 24-48 hours.  Be sure to watch the video posted at the bottom of this posting.  You’ll get to see a gorgeous gardenia bush in blossom in the back yard.

It is also common to find the gardenia blossom used in corsages. The are quite striking in their pure white color, especially when placed against a darker colored garmet. They are sure to garner focus and attention when wearing as a corsage. Because of their gorgeous white color, they can be complemented with pretty much any green foliage or other flowers too.

Gardenias are commonly found growing in southern climates of the US. The foliage is dark shiny green leaves and they grow as a bush. In the spring and fall, the gardenia bush blossoms emit strong, fresh fragrances. They flourish in the southern climate. In climates where the temperature gets below 15 degrees, the gardenia is grown as a house plant. The gardenia prefers full morning sun and filtered afternoon sunshine and requires nightime temperatures to be between 50-60 degrees for flower buds to form. They also thrive in high humidity environments with rich soil containing a high acid content.

Check out the gardenia bush growing in my back yard in the video below. It is approximately 4 to 5 feet in height. This video shows it’s fall blossoming period. The blossoms provide such sweet and fresh fragrance to the air outside. Taking a big deep breath provides feelings and emotions of joy.

The cooler nights have helped the plant develop it’s latest blooms. There are taller varieties of the gardenia plant such as this one growing in my back yard – they can get as tall as 6 to 8 feet in height, and there are shorter varieties too, which stay closer and wider to the ground at approximately 2 feet or less in height and 3 to 4 feet in width.
