Flower Containers – 3 Tips To Choosing The Right Onesflower containers

Having great flower containers is definitely another important piece of the puzzle when creating fabulous flower designs.  You could create one of the most magnificent flower arrangements, all big and beautiful, yet have it placed inside the most crappy and clashing container and guess what people will see and remember?  You guessed right – the container!

The flower containers must blend well and complement any floral design that you create.  You will want the colors of the vase to blend well with the flowers chosen for the arrangement.  The flower containers should be consistent with the design styles created.  The final tip presented here involves making sure that the flower containers provide the proper support or base for the flower arrangements.

Tip 1:  Flower containers should match floral design style

    • When selecting flower containers be sure to use any that complement the flower design.  For instance, if you are creating a traditional floral arrangement, then it would make sense to use a traditional vase or container.  It would not be a good idea to use contemporary style flower containers for traditional style flower arrangements.

Tip 2: Flower containers must match width and height dimensions of flower arrangements

    • This tip is actually a favorite tip.  It is also shared in the 13 EXCLUSIVE insider tips to creating FABULOUS Floral Designs which can be requested in the margin of this site.  Basically the general rule of thumb in choosing flower containers is to remember that the flower design should be no more than 1.5 times the width and height of the container.  This tip and design rule will guide you to keep your flower containers in proportion to the design that you create.

Tip 3 -When in doubt – Choose clear flower containers

    • If you are struggling over which flower containers work best for flower arrangements, then the safest route to go is selecting clear containers.  The majority of floral designs are placed in clear vases, and that is because clear goes with everything.  It might seem boring to choose clear, however the arrangements will look just fine and actually not detract from the flower arrangements.  As you confidence builds with your floral designs, the more expressive and creative you will become in selecting alternative flower containers.

Choosing the right flower containers can be one of the most fun parts of flower arranging.  Personal choice in designs and your own creativity will help you to select wonderful containers.  Keep your selection process simple – don’t over complicate your choice.  If it’s taking too long to decide on a container, then definitely go with clear.  Otherwise, use the three tips presented to help guide you in your selection process.
