Floral Course – Local or Distance Learning . . .

A floral course is aimed at elevating students skills related to the field of floristry or floriculture.  Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in custom floral design, enhancing your floral skills further, or just want to learn to make flower arrangements for the home, office, or friends there is a floral course available for you.
Finding a suitable floral course is very easy.  Begin your search for a floral course by looking to the internet.  Using Google or any other internet search engine search on the term floral course or floral course atlanta (substitute your city or location for atlanta).  You will discover that there are many different organizations, floral schools, and florists that provide floral educational classes.

While most classes are taught in person, there are others available through distance learning programs.  A floral course that is taught to students in person are recommended over distance learning classes.  The reason is that the field of floristry is primarily a tactile field and it requires a lot of hands on exposure and experience that is best-learned in person with a capable instructor.  There are many floral techniques related to working with flowers that are very difficult to properly convey and educate through only printed material.  If distance learning is the route for you then insure you have access to a video training series library that supplements any written curriculum.

A floral course typically includes extensive personal instruction by a qualified instructor, all necessary flowers and foliage, arranging materials, and containers.  As this can vary from course to course or from school to school, be sure to read the entire course overview information to understand what is included versus those items that you may be responsible to acquire or bring to class.

Depending upon each specific floral course, the subject material may consist of learning about the history of floral design, design principles and elements, flower and foliage forms, traditional designs, contemporary designs, color theory, holiday or theme focused designs, wedding flowers, and/or funeral flowers.  Please be sure to read the floral course description to learn about the intention of the course and topics being covered along with any additional prerequisites or materials required for attending the class.
